In 2004, Ganbat came from Ulaanbaatar to Calgary to study jazz. Local jazz musicians Keith Smith (guitar), Robin Tufts (percussion) John Hyde (bass) and Bruce Petherick (piano, no in pciture) extended the warmest welcome and support. From this group, the Northen Lights Quartet (NQL) was formed.
